Wanderlust: My top 5 travel wishlist

I have recently found myself in a constant state of wanderlust, and although I have started to go to a few more places, there are lots more that I really want to visit....

1) New York

I think that New York is probably going to be the ultimate city break, and hopefully my boyfriend and I are going to head over there around March! I am so excited about that it's unreal...

2) Montenegro

I keep reading articles about how Montenegro is a really up and coming beach destination, which makes sense seeing as it is just down the coast from Croatia! It seems quite reasonably priced, and I definitely want my next beach break to be there!

3) Marrakesh

I have long wanted to visit Marrakesh, the Jardin Majorelle is said to be one of the most beautiful gardens, and was beloved by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierres Bergé. I also really want to visit the markets, which are meant to be incredible.

4) Stockholm

I have yet to visit any Scandinavian country, and I think that Sweden would be a great place to start, and Stockholm in particular is a place I would love to visit. It was the European Capital of Culture in 1998, and only seems to have grown since then, with a large and varied art scene, lots of eclectic neighbourhoods and a huge variety of food. Count me in!

5) Santorini

There is one reason why I want to visit Santorini... the sunset is meant to be one of the most beautiful ones ever. Santorini is a volcanic greek island which is famous for it's beaches, buildings, weather and sea; basically the perfect end of summer holiday location!

Is there anywhere that you think I need to add to my travel wishlist? Let me know in the comments below!

I will forever love Chanel Tissé Camélia eyeshadow palette

In January, I bought my first Chanel palette after a wonderful friend bought me a voucher for Christmas, and I absolutely loved it, the colour and consistency of the shadows are THE best I have ever used, (which as a die hard MAC lover is saying something). I have been looking for another, however it is quite a lot of money to justify spending on eyeshadow (£40) so I was waiting until I was certain which one. Then I went to an airport, saw them in duty free and it became an impulse purchase. But an amazing one.

Aren't they beautiful!

I have been using a few more pinky shades recently, which is a new step for me, and as I said, on impulse I decided to buy this palette instead of my normal copper/ brown/ neutral options. And I have so say I am so happy that I did! These colours are fantastic, for everyday I use the pink and light purple (both are ombré shades), sometimes with a little highlighter in the inner corners to brighten me up. For evenings though, I go all out, and that dark purple (intensify) is beautiful - it sits so well against my skin tone, it isn't as harsh as using black, but it adds something a bit more special than using a brown. I love it.

I got so excited by this

Every quad comes with a little book of application ideas

Always chic, always Chanel!

Sorry this one is a bit battered! I forgot to take it and it was rattling around my makeup bag!

I hope you liked reading this, if you want to read the review of my other Chanel quad, click here and you will be transported over! Sorry about the image quality in this post by the way, I promise this is the last time I don't take my DSLR on holiday with me!

Leave me a comment if you would like me to do a tutorial post with either of my Chanel quads to show the different looks that can be built up with the colours!

Holiday Time: Cannes and Monaco

I have recently come back from a very nice trip to the South of France, as my boyfriend and I went on holiday in Cannes! We had perfect weather, and really enjoyed mooching around a lot, eating so much delicious food and taking a trip to Monaco. I hope you enjoy a few (I did try to cut down) holiday snaps!

Food is a big part of my holiday experience! From Prosecco on the flight, to local favourites (I love Moules Frites) and if I'm anywhere near Ladurée I have to get some macarons.

Cannes at night

One thing I loved about being in Cannes was the variety of things there, if you wanted a beach holiday you could one, if you want culture, it's there; and there is also a lot of history to the area. Oh yes, and shopping; including Ladurée...

The Prince's Palace, Monaco

The view over the bay of Monaco

Hotel de Paris, Monte Carlo

If you're going to Monte Carlo, you have to have a drink at Café de Paris,
even if it does cost a small fortune!

View over the Cannes marina and bay

After a wonderful stay at Hotel des Orangers we reluctantly returned home, although it was made a little better by using the airport lounge at Nice Cotes d'Azur Airport!

I hope you enjoyed my pictures, we certainly had a lovely holiday to Cannes and Monaco, and I would recommend that you visit there at some point, there really is something for everyone! For more of my adventures, follow me on Instagram.

French Makeup Haul!

I always get rather excited when I travel to France, because it is a good opportunity for me to stock up on some skincare supplies, however this time I may have also spent a little time in MAC, as well as done some airport shopping!

Also, sorry about the photo quality, I took these while I was in France, and only had my compact! Never again....

This has been one of my favourite face creams for a long time, and I don't see that changing any time soon!

I got very excited about my purchases!
I'm going to do separate posts for the MAC products, and also the Chanel eyeshadows, because I feel we need to have a proper conversation about them, however I will talk about the other bits now!

Bioderma Micellar Water
I have recently tried switching to the Garnier Micellar water, as it is quite a bit cheaper than the Bioderma one, however I am changing back. I have quite sensitive skin, and the Bioderma one doesn't sting at all, but it gets off all my makeup and my skin feels great when I use it. Unfortunately when I use the Garnier one, my skin gets quite tight, and I suffer from eczema on my eyelids sometimes, and it made them sting :( Yay for Bioderma though which does not!!

Benefit Hello Flawless Powder

It comes with a cute little book full of tips and tricks

The compact is equipped with a mirror

Underneath the powder there is a really useful sponge and small brush!
As you will know if you have read some of my other posts, I am usually a die hard MAC makeup fan. I would say that approximately 80% of my day to day makeup is from MAC in fact, however from time to time I do still enjoy perusing other counters, and there is nowhere better to do that than at an airport. My powder is on it's way out, and I wanted one to leave in my bag for everyday use, and I saw this one at the Benefit counter. Not going to lie, for me the draw was the mini brush and sponge in the bottom... it is super useful, and although I usually use a big powder brush, for handbag space saving I think this is a great idea.

The lady applied some of the powder for me, and I have to admit I was really impressed with how easily it blended, and the coverage it provided. I've been using it for a few weeks now, and I continue to get good results, I've used it on it's own when I wanted light coverage, over foundation, and to mattify my face when I was a bit glowy! This is definitely a perfect handbag companion - I highly recommend it!

As and when I post the MAC and Chanel reviews I'll post links here for you to follow!

Lots of love
