Top 5 Tuesday: Christmas Films

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Sorry, I had to get that out my system. Right, on with the post...

Seeing as it's nearly Christmas, and I haven't done a Top 5 Tuesday for a while, I thought a festive one was due! So without further ado my Top 5 Christmas Films!!!

1) A Christmas Princess

This is a brilliant terrible film, if you know what I mean! The plot is typical, the acting is fairly rubbish, but it is such a feel good film I love it to bits, and watch it several times over Christmas, and occasionally throughout the rest of the year!!

2) Annie Claus is Coming To Town

This is a typical made for TV Christmas film, and it's absolutely amazing! It's about Santa's daughter Annie, who takes her first ever trip away from the North Pole to visit California to have an adventure and find love. This is such a happy feel good film, I love it!

3) Love Actually

Just because, who doesn't adore Love Actually!!!!!

4) The Holiday

So many people haven't seen this film but it is incredible! I mean, look at the cast, Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black and Kate Winslet! It's a really wonderful Christmas film, and I can't recommend that you watch it enough!

5) Home Alone (1-3)

I absolutely love the Home Alone films (although I'm not a huge fan of 4!), and seeing as they are a series, I'm going to put them all into my Top 5!!

Let me know what you think of my film choices in the comments below, and if you think I need to watch any other Christmas films over the holidays!

Slimming Solutions Pu-erh Tea

I don't know about all of you but I have been feeling really sluggish recently, I think it's probably because of all the junk food I have been snacking on... my bad. However, the lovely people over at Slimming Solutions sent me over some Pu-erh to try out, I was definitely keen to give it a go!

I'm a big tea person anyway, and I drink quite a lot of green/ healthy teas, but I found I actually enjoyed this tea, it was nice and refreshing after each meal, I really enjoyed adding it to my diet. Plus who doesn't like a warm drink when it's cold!

Pu-erh tea has a variety of benefits, including increasing metabolism and reducing cholesterol, apparently over time it can also improve the skin, and help reduce bloating. I think it has probably helped me this week, I have been to Slimming World and lost 2.5lbs in a week, which considering I was off plan for several meals was really good - I'm convinced the tea had an impact!

If you want to get some for yourself, have a look at the Slimming Solutions website, where they have a few offers available.

Let me know in the comments if you give it a go, or if there are anything other teas I should try!

1) Avene Cicalfate Repair Cream
2) Yankee Candle Christmas Cracker
3) Lonely Planet Best In Travel 2016

You may have remembered a while ago that I reviewed Avene Cicalfate Repair Cream and loved it? Well I have been using it for well over a year now, and it is definitely one of my winter skin care staples, and I am hoping whoever wins this Christmas package loves it too! I added the candles to the mix, because it is never truly Christmas until a lovely scented candle is burning, and as I am doing more home decor type posts I thought it would be cute. Amazing Barcelona Makeup Haul

One of my favourite things about going abroad is duty free and any local pharmacies or makeup stores for some new makeup bits! Last time I went to France, I got a some French Pharmacy bits, and a new Chanel quad, but this time I found a Sephora store and got really excited as I have never tried any of their own brand products! I may have also purchased a couple more lipsticks and lipliners...
MAC Brave lipstick and Soar lipliner

MAC Whirl lipstick and Morning Coffee Lipliner

As you may have realised from some of my previous posts, I am going through a bit of a nudes lipstick phase, while I was in France I bought Velvet Teddy and I also got Faux a couple of months ago! At London Gatwick on the way out I decided to try a more brown shade, and purchased Whirl with the matching lipliner in Morning Coffee. This is a matte lipstick, so I definitely recommend using a moisturising primer underneath it, otherwise it will dry out your lips. On the way back, I thought I would add another pinkier one to the collection and got Brave, and the lipliner Soar, which everyone talks about as being one of the Kylie Jenner lipstick staples, but I'm not sure how well they actually go together, I think I need to work on some blending.

Sephora Purchases
Chanel Chance Perfume

I have had Chanel Chance for years, and it is one of the staples in my collection. I think you can never really go wrong with Chanel Chance perfume, it's a classic scent which can be worn day or night, and even using the Eau de Toilette the scent is really long lasting.

Sephora Exfoliating Powder

I was so excited to get some new products from Sephora - I have never tried any of their things before, so I wanted to try a skincare item, an eyeshadow palette, a lip product and something a bit different, so that's what I did!

I have never used an exfoliating powder before, but I was looking forward to trying it! It's really simple to use, you literally shake some onto your wet hands and it foams up, cleaning your face really well. It's recommended to use this method once a week, but you can also include some in your daily cleanser every day for a deeper clean, which I'm yet to try!

Sephora Eyeshadow Palette

Sephora Eyeshadow Palette

I absolutely love getting new eyeshadow palettes, and I'm really regretting that I only bought the smokey eye one, as they had a neutrals one which was fantastic as well! Oh well, next trip!

Sephora Lip and Cheek Crayon and Smoothing & Brightening Powder
Bioderma Micellar Water

I have a definite issue where I seem to be unable to go to Europe without stopping by a pharmacy and buying some more Bioderma Micellar Water. It's definitely my favourite makeup remover, and it doesn't hurt my eczema at all which is a winner!

What essential does every house need? A bar cart of course!

As you may know, I have recently moved into a new house and have been busy planning all of my rooms; when the lovely people over at Chairish asked if I had thought about including a bar cart! Well, my cocktail equipment has to live somewhere, and currently the top of my kitchen cupboard isn't quite working out for me so I think it is a great option!
My favourite bar cart that I have seen is the Mid-Century Brass Bar Cart because I like it's sleek look, and it would fit nicely into my living room!
Now the best bit... although I have quite a lot of cocktail equipment already, I definitely need to get some new stuff...
For my cocktail equipment, I like a variety of bits, ranging from classic decanters, to modern ice crushers, I get all my bits out when friends or family come over, so it's nice to be able to make a drink for anyone, no matter what their taste!
Personally, my favourite drinks are some of the simplest; having just been on holiday I have drank a lot of Tinto De Verano, which is a Spanish drink, very similar to Sangria, but much simpler...
1/2 a glass red wine
1/2 a glass lemon fanta
Serve over ice, with a lemon slice
To feel truly like you are in Spain, have a side of olives, or tomato bread with it!

If you want to get your own bar cart, have a look at the selection from Chairish here!

Let me know what you would like to include in your cocktail kit!

What's in my Carry On? And Longchamp Le Pliage review...

I have been a rather lucky girl when it comes to holidays/ getaways in the last year. I ended last year by going to Florida, then after not doing much for the first half of the year (thank you Glandular Fever) my boyfriend and I went away for my birthday in July to Lincoln for a few days, then a couple of months ago we went to Cannes (feel free to have a nose here) and now I am preparing to pop off again, as I am heading to Barcelona next week! All of this has made me rather adapt at holiday packing, which I thought I would share with you guys!

Without further ado...

Firstly. In general I am not a wheelie case carry on fan. Long haul I will occasionally, but I will never use one for short haul, unless I am not taking any other suitcase, and to be fair even then I usually check it in! I have the opinion the bigger bag you take as hand luggage, the more you want to pack into it, and then you have to carry it all. Not ideal!
All my junk!

I have recently bought a new bag, which I think is airport perfect, it is the Longchamp Le Pliage shopper which was £68 from Selfridges. I love this bag for travel as it folds down if I want to use it as a shopper in a smaller bag, it is also completely waterproof, so if you get caught in a downpour nothing will be ruined inside. I decided I wanted the longer handle as I like being able to throw my bag over my shoulder when I can't be bothered to hold it, however it is also available in shorter handles and as a rucksack.
I got these packing bags on amazon - I got a set of 4, the bigger ones I have used in my case

Using travel organisers is one of my top tips. I put all my electrics into one bag, so I know where everything is, and I put my spare clothes in another.

I pretty much pack the same things every time I go abroad:
iPad - I use it for everything, magazines (seriously, carrying heavy magazines is completely unnecessary) apps, movies, tv shows
iPhone and charging block - I find a charging block to be a godsend when I'm traveling as I'm constantly using technology of some kind, I usually run out of battery, therefore having a way of recharging them is essential!
Headphones - I'm an in ear person
Makeup
Toiletries - my essentials are avene cicalfate// embryolisse lait creme// toothbrush and paste // face wipes
Sunglasses
Travel documents
Notebook and pen
Electric bits
Purse
Travel Purse
Hand sanitiser
Medicines
Camera
Scarf

Mini makeup brushes save so much packing space. BUT they have to be good quality.

What do you pack in your carry on? Let me know below!

You can never have enough MAC...

So, while I was in Cannes I was wandering around, and happened to come across a MAC store, so naturally I had to have a little wander in and made a few purchases!

Velvet Teddy
I am constantly searching for the perfect nude, and one I have been keen to add to my collection is Velvet Teddy... however tracking down a store when it is out of stock everywhere was really hard! However, in France, it turned out not to be an issue! Apparently the Kylie Jenner lip craze hasn't struck as hard there!

Nice 'n' Spicy Lip Pencil
I never used to bother buying lip pencils to go with my lipsticks, but now I realise what an asset they are, and always get one to go with any new lipstick. The girl in MAC suggested this one, and I think it's fab.

Continuing on the lip pencil requirements, I bought Ruby Woo lipstick quite a while ago, but I didn't get the lip liner... I love the colour but bleeding lipstick especially in bright red is literally the worst thing in the world, and it has meant I don't wear it as much as I would like. Problem is now solved, I have bought the liner!

Another item that I have been considering for a while was the Prep + Prime Lip Base, and seeing as how I'm currently massively into matte lipsticks, I decided it was the perfect time to buy it! Definitely no regrets, I always use it under mattes and it makes them look so much better. Also if I am having a dry lip day I use it under any other formula, and it makes the lipsticks go on so much easier and they stay on much more evenly if that makes sense!

I hope you have enjoyed reading this, as always I'm sure my next MAC trip isn't going to be far off, and if there is anything new you think I need to try out let me know!

Lots of love
